Job summary
The Kenan Advantage Group Inc., (KAG), is North America’s largest tank truck transporter and logistics provider, delivering energy commodities, specialty products, merchant gases, and food products across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the Warehouse/Yard Manager is responsible for the overall safety and operation of the Saskatoon warehouses and facilities including materials storage areas, scale, fuel island, and temporary transloading operations such as conveyors. The successful candidate will be in a working-supervisor role. The POSITION and RESPONSIBILITIES: * Manage employee schedules while managing overtime and ensuring timecards are submitted to payroll to align with pay schedule. * Provide day-to-day direction to all warehouse/yard employees. * Hiring, training, coaching and performance management as required. * Increase operating efficiencies within the warehouse and yard, improving site cleanliness and organization. * Maintain warehouse inventory control and reconciliation. * Provide safety leadership to the warehouse and yard employees and outside carriers. * Investigate incidents related to damaged equipment/facilities, materials or product contamination/loss, or injury to employees. * Ensure loading and unloading schedule is kept on track for both salt and fuel. * Assist in loading and unloading trucks as needed. * Positively represent the company in all dealings with outside carriers, customers, regulators, and the public as required. * Ensure all equipment has been maintained or properly locked out for service or repairs as required. * Communicate with various departments to ensure daily operational goals are achieved. * General day-to-day maintenance, upkeep, organization and cleanliness of facilities and equipment including yard and facility grounds. As in Snow removal and Landscaping. * Ensure truck scale is free of debris and in good working order and repair. * Maintain all mechanical equipment in good operating condition thorough inspections and coordination of maintenance including daily, preventative and major repair work as required.
