Derrickhand - Well Servicing

The Derrickhand is an experienced crew member of the well servicing rig crew responsible for safely performing well servicing operations from the tubing board. Working at an elevated position, the Derrickhand guides tubing, tools and equipment as they are run into and pulled from the well. This position also includes operating and driving rig equipment to and from job sites, supporting the Driller in daily operations, mentoring and assisting crew members, and carrying out all assigned duties in accordance with client requirements, company procedures and safety standards. Duties and Responsibilities Assist Driller with equipment maintenance specifically related to the circulating system Assist with pipe guiding while positioned in the derrick Participate in pre-job safety meetings, hazard assessments and emergency response drills Identify and report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and equipment hazards immediately Ability to comply with company policies and procedures Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Previous service rig experience working in Floorhand and Derrickhand positions Valid full Class 5 Drivers license & reliable transportation Air Brakes Endorsement is preferred Preferred Industry Tickets: H2S Alive Standard First Aid with CPR CSO (Common Safety Orientation) Fall Protection for Rig Work Rig Rescue for Rig Work preferred CAOEC Derrickhand Competency considered an asset Ability to pass pre-employment testing Fluent in Written/Spoken English Be willing to work in all weather conditions and work environments with work away from home What we offer: Immediate Employee Benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage Retention Bonus Matched Savings Program - up to 5% Steady crews with opportunity for local work Derrickhand position is full-time seasonal position. Seasonal work is based on operational requirements, project schedules, weather and environmental conditions and other factors outside our control.

The Derrickhand is responsible for safely performing well servicing operations from the tubing board, including guiding tubing and tools. They also assist the Driller with equipment maintenance and support daily rig operations while ensuring safety standards are met.

Candidates must have previous service rig experience in Floorhand and Derrickhand positions and hold a valid Class 5 Driver's license. Preferred qualifications include industry-specific safety tickets such as H2S Alive, First Aid, and Fall Protection.
