Weyerhaeuser Company is currently recruiting for an Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator with our OSB facility located in Hudson Bay, SK. We are seeking an individual who is committed to safety, demonstrates a positive attitude and strong work ethic, and is eager to work in a manufacturing environment. This position primarily works eight (8) hours a day, Monday through Friday. Key Responsibilities: Work safely, and in full compliance with the facility's safety plans, policies and practices. Role model all standards/processes and on-the-job behavior by living our core values of safety, integrity, citizenship, sustainability, and inclusion. On a daily basis, be accountable for compliance with environmental regulations and permit conditions. Ensure that inspections and recordkeeping are performed at required frequencies, and that environmental monitoring parameters comply with permits, plans, government regulations, or other regulatory or company requirements. Ensure proper and timely implementation of facility environmental plans and procedures. Provides administrative support and coordination of Weyerhaeuser’s health and safety programs. Assists with the organization and scheduling of new hire training. Presents to employees the monthly safety training, statistics, and safety knowledge. Ensures new hire orientation and training is completed, and all required documentation is inspected and collected accurately. Participates in incident investigations to determine contributing factors, root cause, and to establish preventative measures/corrective actions where necessary. Assist in emergency response and evacuation plans and ensure emergency preparedness measures are implemented and reviewed. Maintains the Safety Filing System: both electronically and hardcopy filing, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Develops and reviews hazard assessments, safe job procedures and written reports. Develops and distributes communication to the site regarding Health & Wellness and Safety Alerts. Attends all Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee meetings and assists with minutes, agenda, and recommendations. Continuously analyze and provide recommendations for improvements, with regards to tracking and reporting procedures for safety data. Assists with both external and internal Health and Safety audits. Provides visitor and contractor orientations. Complete additional Health & Safety projects as required and assigned by the Mill Manager and/or the Health and Safety Manager. Performs other duties as assigned. High School Diploma/GED required. Eligible to work in Canada. Comfortable with public speaking. Post-secondary education in a related discipline is an asset. Experience in an Environmental or a Health and Safety role would be an asset. Understanding of applicable environmental requirements & permits. Working towards certification or already certified, in the Occupational Health and Safety profession is preferred. Knowledge of industrial hygiene is considered an asset. Comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations. Ownership and commitment to safety and risk assessment. Willingness and ability to wear all required personal protective equipment. Proficient with presentation, database, and office software. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills are essential. Industrial Manufacturing experience is a strong asset. This is a safety-sensitive position; candidates must be able to pass the pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting an hourly range of $70,713-$99,781 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience.
