Position: Programming Acquisition Location: Edmonton, AB Canada Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will: Identify, develop, and maintain an international client list of independent producers and content distributors. Create and sell strategic sales proposals with appropriate research data for a variety of independent producers and distributors for Wild TV, The Cowboy Channel Canada, RFD TV Canada, and The Water Television Network Provide exceptional customer service by proactively building and managing a client list Liaise effectively with the General Manager and support functions, including: Traffic, Research, Programming, Marketing, and Revenue Management Participate in industry activities related to the position Preview and evaluates hunting, fishing, shooting sports, motorsports, and other related genre television programs to determine appropriateness for station usage. Participates in program acquisition Participates in preparing and updating weekly/monthly program schedules by establishing program availability and determining the best time to air. Responds to viewers' questions, comments, and/or complaints regarding television programming/scheduling. Participates in the preparation and maintenance of various departmental reports for submission to the supervisor such as program evaluations and preparation of audience research information; prepares and responds to various surveys such as program rating surveys. Participates in developing alternatives to the planned schedule; authorizes last-minute changes and replaces material. Participates in the development of department goals, policies, and procedures. Confers with the promotional department to discuss the content of programs scheduled to air; determines which programs to promote. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of employment within a Broadcast Sales organization or similar industry a plus, but not required. Strong negotiating skills combined with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under pressure of deadlines and last minutes revisions A highly developed client service focus and proven ability Self-motivated! Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills Must demonstrate high energy, enthusiasm, motivation, and confidence Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and in a team environment Strong computer proficiency of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel. PowerPoint) Prior use and efficient use of CRM software Experience with SDS or related software is an asset Knowledge of broadcast scheduling techniques is an asset Skill in broadcast program evaluation is an asset Job Type: Full-time email [email protected]
