School Bus Drivers Transportation Department Under the supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, a school bus driver ensures the safe and systematic transportation of students to and from school according to the procedure set out by the Province of Manitoba and the Winnipeg School Division. Responsibilities May Include But Are Not Limited To Safely drive students to and from school, in a timely manner, following a prescribed route, on a daily basis during the school year Safely transport students to and from other school related activities Perform daily vehicle circle check safety inspections, documenting and reporting according to prescribed guidelines Comply with all Division and government regulations, laws and policies Communicate clearly and interact with parents, school employees, passengers, co-workers and the general public in a courteous, professional manner as required Qualifications Applicants must possess a Class 2 License and a School Bus Operators Certificate (Note: The Winnipeg School Division Transportation Department will provide paid training for suitable applicants who hold a Class 5 license and a clear driver’s abstract for the past 5 years) A clear driver’s abstract for the past 5 years is required with the application If you hold a Class 5F Manitoba Driver's License, proof of registration/passing mark of Class 2 Knowledge AND School Bus Knowledge test through MPI is required Ability to work under minimal supervision Ability to supervise passengers under care Ability to communicate in a pleasant, courteous and effective manner Exposure to supervising large groups of children is an asset Must respect confidentiality of work, be safety-minded, courteous and able to demonstrate an appreciation for the importance of customer service Dedication to anti-racism, equity, and diversity Proven commitment to Truth and Reconciliation Proven ability to build collaborated cultures founded on integrity and collective purpose How to apply: Click the button "Apply Online" and log into your account.
