Role: Security Engineer Title: AVP/VP Location: Montreal, QC (Day 1 Onsite/Hybrid) – Fulltime Mode of Work: 3 days/week onsite required Required Experience: 5+ years We are seeking a hands-on Security Engineer to design, review, and strengthen enterprise security architecture across cloud and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will have expertise in security architecture, threat modeling, secure application design, and cloud security while ensuring compliance with industry best practices. Key Responsibilities Perform security architecture reviews and design secure enterprise solutions. Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for applications and infrastructure. Define and implement security controls for identity & access management, encryption, and data protection. Design secure network segmentation strategies and API security frameworks. Integrate security best practices across the Secure Software Development Life Cycle (Secure SDLC). Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and cloud teams to embed security into solution designs. Ensure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are configured and maintained according to security best practices. Provide recommendations to mitigate security risks and improve overall security posture. Required Skills 4+ years of hands-on experience in Security Architecture, Design Reviews, and Threat Modeling. Strong expertise in Identity & Access Management (IAM). Experience with Encryption, Data Protection, and Key Management. Knowledge of Network Segmentation and API Security. Hands-on experience implementing Secure SDLC practices. Experience securing cloud environments on AWS, Azure, or GCP. Strong understanding of security principles, risk management, and security best practices. Nice to Have Experience in the Financial Services domain. Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or CISM. Knowledge of security frameworks including NIST and ISO 27001. Strong software engineering or application development background.
