The Senior Manager, Contracts & Vendor Management leads the execution, governance, and continuous improvement of contract and vendor management practices across a multi-vendor environment. This role is accountable for driving team performance, strengthening vendor relationships, and ensuring contracts are executed with consistency, quality, and commercial discipline. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to shape contract and vendor strategy within a rapidly scaling national telecom organization, directly influencing how critical infrastructure gets built and delivered. Leading a team of Contracts Managers, this role balances people leadership with operational oversight, elevating team capability, improving vendor engagement, and ensuring the organization is viewed as a professional and reliable partner. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who brings structure, clarity, and a focus on execution. This individual is proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated by improving both team effectiveness and external partner relationships. Key Responsibilities Include Team Leadership & Performance Lead, coach, and develop a team of Contracts Managers, driving accountability and high performance Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and provide ongoing feedback and development Foster a culture of ownership, urgency, and solution-oriented execution Vendor Management Oversee vendor relationships to ensure effective, professional, and collaborative engagement Address vendor performance issues and drive accountability where required Ensure consistency and quality in all vendor-facing interactions Strengthen the organization’s reputation as a preferred partner Contract Oversight & Governance Provide oversight on contract execution, compliance, and risk management Partner with internal stakeholders (including Legal) on contract review and issue resolution Support negotiation strategies aligned with business objectives Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across all contract documentation Process Improvement & Operations Identify and implement improvements to workflows, tools, and team efficiency Standardize templates, processes, and documentation Ensure clarity in roles, responsibilities, and deliverables across the team Act as an escalation point for complex contract or vendor issues Success Measures Improved team performance, accountability, and engagement Stronger, more effective vendor relationships Increased consistency, efficiency, and quality in contract management High standard of documentation and communication The Ideal Candidate Will Possess Experience leading teams in contracts management, vendor management, or similar functions Strong people leadership skills with a track record of improving team performance Experience operating in multi-vendor, stakeholder-heavy environments Ability to influence, coach, and drive behavioural change High attention to detail and commitment to quality Background in telecom, infrastructure, construction, or related industries is an asset Condition Of Employment As a condition of employment and in order to comply with industry related data security standards, this position is subject to the successful completion of a Criminal Background Check.
