Role Description The Pipefitter role at Yanda Canada Ltd. is a contract, on-site position based in Fort McMurray, AB. Day-to-day responsibilities include measuring, cutting, threading, and installing piping systems according to drawings, specifications, and industry standards. The role involves assembling and securing pipes, performing fit-ups, supporting welding activities, and coordinating with supervisors and other trades to ensure accurate and efficient installation. Pipefitters are expected to inspect and test piping systems, identify and address defects, and follow all safety procedures and site regulations. This position may require working in varying weather conditions, confined spaces, and industrial environments, with a strong emphasis on safe work practices and quality workmanship. Qualifications Demonstrated experience with pipe and pipefitting work, including layout, fabrication, and installation of industrial piping systems. Proficiency in welding-related tasks, such as supporting weld preparations and performing TIG welding where required. Experience working with steam systems or other high-pressure piping, including knowledge of relevant codes and standards. Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship in pipefitting or an equivalent discipline; journeyperson status is an asset. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs. Commitment to safety, with knowledge of industrial safety practices, PPE requirements, and hazard recognition. Physical capability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined or elevated areas. Previous experience in industrial, construction, or oil and gas environments.
