Be the spark that ignites a team's potential! The YMCA of Oakville is seeking a passionate On-Site Supervisor to lead and inspire our child care team. Nature and Scope: The YMCA of Oakville is the largest not-for-profit Child Care provider in Oakville. We offer high-quality Infant, Toddler and Preschool Child Care programs for children ages 6 weeks to 3.8 years at 10 locations across Oakville, as well as Before and After School programs for children ages 3.8 to 12 years at 42 locations across Oakville. As an On-Site Supervisor, you will provide operational leadership and support to a child care program serving children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age and their families. You will report to the Director of Child Care and be responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership and supervision of the program, ensuring the YMCA policies and procedures and Child Care and Early Years Act requirements are met. You will maintain positive working relationships with families, principals, and school administration. You will also develop and deliver quality programs that support the healthy development of children and align with the Association’s goals and objectives. Salary & Benefits • Competitive pay rate $27.70 - $29.70 per hour (inclusive of provincial and federal grant) • Comprehensive health and dental benefits plan • YMCA Staff Membership (Health, Fitness & Aquatics) + other benefits • Opportunities for career growth and professional development Location: YMCA Child Care Centre, Oakville, ON Schedule of Work: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week, with rotational shifts between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm Responsibilities • Provides operational leadership and supervision to the program, ensuring compliance with YMCA policies and procedures and Child Care and Early Years Act requirements • Ensures positive, professional communication with families on an ongoing basis and responds promptly to all requests, queries, and concerns • Builds and maintains positive, professional partnerships with colleagues, school principals, and school administration to support effective communication, collaboration, and the successful delivery of the program • Ensures the effective implementation of YMCA Playing to Learn and YMCA Place to Connect, and the delivery of high-quality programs aligned with the principles of YMCA Healthy Child Development • Supports the planning and delivery of developmentally appropriate programming that reflects the unique needs, interests, and developmental stages of toddlers, preschool, kindergarten, and school-age children • Ensures environments are welcoming, inclusive, safe, and engaging, providing opportunities for children to explore, play, develop independence, and build positive relationships • Delivers nutritious menus that follow the guidelines from Canada’s Food Guide • Coordinates registrations, manages enrolment, and monitors monthly expenses • Completes various administrative duties • Provides ongoing leadership, coaching, and supervision to the centre’s team, including supporting performance development and completing performance reviews • Creates an environment in which staff, placement students, and volunteers feel safe to be themselves at work and experience a sense of belonging on the team Requirements • Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators, or a Certified Teaching Degree with good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers • Minimum of one year of supervisory or leadership experience in a licensed child care setting, with demonstrated experience supporting, coaching, and leading a team • Minimum of two years of experience working with children and families within a licensed child care environment • Working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills • Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with families, colleagues, and community and school partners • Demonstrated passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the YMCA’s mission, vision, and core values • Clear police security check with vulnerable sector screening Work Authorization: The YMCA of Oakville is required to comply with all regulations established by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
