Job Title: Senior Mainframe Technical Lead / Mainframe Migration Lead Location: Remote Mode: Full time Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Technical Lead with a strong background in Mainframe application development, modernization, and database migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Mainframe technologies, proven leadership experience, and a successful track record of delivering complex Mainframe transformation and migration projects. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise Mainframe applications. Manage and mentor technical teams, providing direction, code reviews, and technical guidance. Drive end-to-end delivery of Mainframe projects, ensuring adherence to quality, timelines, and budget requirements. Assess existing Mainframe environments and define modernization and migration strategies. Lead database migration initiatives including discovery, assessment, planning, execution, validation, and cutover activities. Work closely with business stakeholders, architects, infrastructure teams, and vendors to define project scope and technical solutions. Conduct impact assessments, effort estimations, and risk analysis for migration and transformation projects. Ensure application performance, availability, security, and compliance requirements are met. Support production deployments, issue resolution, and post-implementation stabilization activities. Participate in architecture reviews and recommend improvements for scalability, maintainability, and operational efficiency. Required Technical Skills Mainframe Technologies IBM z/OS COBOL JCL CICS VSAM DB2 IMS DB/DC REXX TSO/ISPF Database & Migration Database Migration and Modernization Data Mapping and Data Conversion Data Validation and Reconciliation Performance Tuning and Optimization Required Experience 8+ years of hands-on Mainframe development experience. Proven experience leading technical teams and successfully delivering large-scale Mainframe projects. Strong experience in Mainframe application assessment, modernization, and transformation initiatives. Hands-on experience executing complex database migration and data conversion projects. Experience in system integration, testing, and production implementation. Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or Hybrid delivery models. Strong stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills. Preferred Experience Experience with Mainframe modernization initiatives involving legacy modernization programs Experience in Insurance Domains. Soft Skills Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Ability to work effectively with global and cross-functional teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
