Registered Nurse – Clinical Team Leader Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Practice | Toronto We are a busy, established oral and maxillofacial surgery practice seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as Clinical Team Leader. This is a hands-on leadership position for an RN who enjoys the pace and precision of a surgical environment and takes pride in creating a clinical team that is organized, prepared, professional, and supportive. The successful candidate will work closely with our surgeons and practice leadership while providing day-to-day leadership to our nursing and clinical staff. The Role As Clinical Team Leader, you will be responsible for helping ensure that our surgical days run safely, efficiently, and smoothly from beginning to end. Your responsibilities will include: Providing clinical leadership and day-to-day supervision of the nursing and surgical support team Coordinating operating rooms, patient flow, recovery, room turnover, and clinical staffing Assisting with oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, including procedures performed under IV sedation Pre-operative assessment, patient preparation, monitoring, recovery, and discharge Ensuring operating rooms are fully prepared before the start of each surgical day Maintaining emergency medications, equipment, crash carts, oxygen, suction, monitoring equipment, and clinical supplies Ensuring appropriate infection prevention and control practices Maintaining clinical protocols, checklists, emergency procedures, and regulatory documentation Monitoring inventory and ensuring appropriate stocking of medications, instruments, and surgical supplies Training, mentoring, and supporting nursing and clinical staff Establishing clear expectations for clinical performance, professionalism, communication, and teamwork Identifying workflow problems and helping develop practical solutions Participating in staff meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical policy development Working collaboratively with surgeons, administrative leadership, treatment coordinators, and other members of the practice Who We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is clinically strong, organized, calm under pressure, and comfortable taking responsibility. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Current BLS certification ACLS certification strongly preferred Previous experience in oral surgery, dentistry, outpatient surgery, PACU, emergency medicine, critical care, or another procedural environment preferred Experience with IV sedation and patient monitoring is a strong asset Previous charge nurse, clinical coordinator, or team leadership experience preferred Strong knowledge of infection prevention, emergency preparedness, medication management, and patient safety Excellent organizational and communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Comfortable providing direction, feedback, and mentorship to other team members The Person Matters as Much as the Résumé We value integrity, accountability, initiative, professionalism, kindness, and teamwork. Requirements
