The Young Nuclear Professionals’ Forum (YNPF) is a collective of nuclear professionals early within their career who support the Safety Directors’ Forum (SDF) and Nuclear Engineering Directors’ Forum (NEDF) to improve and promote best practice across the industry by completing task on their or their associated sub-groups' behalf. We consist of representatives from a range of companies in the civil and defence nuclear sector including nuclear licensed sites, MOD nuclear authorised sites, companies with major nuclear interests and regulatory bodies (as agreed by the group membership). The completion of tasks is a key focus of the YNPF and are great for challenging ourselves, gaining experience outside of our day-to-day roles and putting forward an alternative perspective on the challenges facing the nuclear industry today whilst looking to improve the industry for the future.

The role involves managing materiel certification processes, including handling customer audits and preparing material state reports for the Department of National Defence. It also requires driving the resolution of materiel status issues and mentoring junior staff on certification procedures.
