Job details

Company Description 360 Mode is a design-build consulting practice specializing in commercial spaces across the Greater Toronto Area, including offices, restaurants, and other tenant improvements. The firm combines licensed technical design expertise with hands-on project management to provide clients with a single accountable point of contact from concept through occupancy. Led by a licensed BCIN designer with a background in construction project management, 360 Mode ensures every project is designed for code compliance and buildability from the outset. Services include BCIN-stamped design and permit drawings, space planning and test-fit layouts, tenant improvement project coordination, budget guidance, and construction management. Team members collaborate closely with tenants, landlords, and contractors to deliver practical, well-executed environments. Role Description The Designer is a full-time, remote role based in Toronto, ON, supporting commercial fit-out and tenant improvement projects from early concept through construction. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing space plans and test-fit layouts, preparing technical drawings and documentation, and supporting BCIN-stamped design and permit submissions under the direction of the technical lead. The Designer will collaborate with project managers to coordinate with clients, landlords, and contractors, ensure design intent aligns with code and buildability requirements, and resolve design-related questions during construction. This role also involves contributing to material and finish selections, maintaining organized project files, and participating in site visits, surveys, and design review meetings as needed. Qualifications Strong skills in technical design and drafting, including preparing permit drawings, layouts, and construction documentation. Experience with space planning and commercial interior design for offices, restaurants, or other tenant improvement projects. Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar) and basic MS Office tools. Solid understanding of building codes, accessibility standards, and construction methods, ideally within Ontario. Ability to collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients, with clear, professional communication skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in an on-site environment. Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, or a related field; BCIN qualification or eligibility is an asset. Previous experience in design-build, construction project coordination, or commercial fit-outs is strongly preferred.
