Job summary

Chesterton is looking for a finance professional with at least 1-2 years of general finance experience to join our team in Burlington, ON! This is a hybrid position, with at least 3 days of on-site work at our Burlington location. Job Summary: Provides support in all financial management activities for Chesterton Canada, ensuring compliance with both local accounting standards. Assists with maintaining the cost accounting system, general ledger, payroll processing, tax compliance and reporting, government filings, and treasury-related tasks. Supports sales teams by preparing reports, tracking sales and expenses, monitoring internal controls, and assisting with financial analysis and budgeting activities. Works closely with Finance Manager – NA and team members to help coordinate budgeting and forecasting processes, assist with internal audit preparation, and maintain controls to safeguard company assets. Job Responsibilities: Supports the completion of financial closings, analysis and reporting under the guidelines of AWC Finance requirements and procedures, in accordance with local and U.S. GAAP. Assists with cost analysis to validate product standard cost, manufacturing cost integrity, and manufacturing cost variances. Helps create annual operational budgets. Document and implement financial procedures relevant to Canada Operations. Maintain data integrity of the ERP system and Windows based systems which manage all financial, inventory, purchasing and operational activities. Provide appropriate systems training and write procedures as necessary. Work closely as a team with operation functions such as purchasing and manufacturing, being hands on helping other functions when required. Job Experience: University degree in finance or equivalent work experience 1-2 years experience Previous financial experience preferred. Must possess detailed working knowledge of managerial and financial accounting processes and tasks. On time delivery of financial reporting and closings. Daily interface with multiple disciplines both inside and outside of the operation. Collaboration with Canada Operations, U.S. Finance, U.S. Operations, and U.S. IT on a regular basis. Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring appreciable originality and ingenuity.
