Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Sales and Business Development Director to join our team and contribute to the growth of our Transportation and Aerospace business sectors including our Diversification. This role is responsible for driving revenue and profitability through the development and execution of strategic sales initiatives, strengthening customer relationships, expanding market opportunities, and supporting long-term business growth. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the Sales and Business Development Director will analyze market trends, identify new business opportunities, optimize partnerships, and provide strategic recommendations to support organizational objectives. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Vice President & General Director, the Sales and Business Development Director will: Business Development & Sales Strategy Drive revenue growth and profitability in alignment with corporate objectives. Develop, implement, and continuously improve business development and sales strategies across all company activities. Identify, analyze, and forecast market trends to uncover new business opportunities and target markets. Generate new business through prospecting, networking, and relationship-building activities. Provide strategic recommendations to support sustainable company growth and market expansion. Customer & Partner Relationship Management Manage strategic and operational activities related to customer relationships. Maximize the potential of existing customers and active business partners. Act proactively in addressing customer needs and delivering effective solutions. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and suppliers to ensure exceptional service and long-term collaboration. Represent the company professionally during customer meetings, negotiations, and business development activities. Performance Analysis & Collaboration Monitor, analyze, and report on sales performance and business development results. Collaborate closely with Operations to forecast performance, identify variances, and implement corrective actions when required. Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to senior management, including customer needs, market developments, and emerging opportunities. Contribute ideas for product, service, and business development based on market feedback and customer demands. Marketing & Corporate Representation Work with the Marketing Department to develop promotional materials, sales tools, and campaigns that support business development objectives. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, exhibitions, conventions, conferences, and job fairs. Promote the company's services and strengthen its market presence within the transportation and aerospace sectors. Talent Support & Organizational Alignment Partner with the recruitment team to identify and attract qualified candidates for client and company needs. Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, procedures, values, and strategic objectives. Skills And Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Experience Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic sales, business development, or marketing management. Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing, industrial, transportation, or aerospace sectors. Demonstrated experience working with senior leadership to develop and execute sales strategies. Experience operating in a corporate and business-to-business (B2B) environment. Knowledge & Skills Strong knowledge of the transportation and/or aerospace industries. Proven track record of developing new business and increasing revenue through lead generation and strategic account management. Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze markets and identify growth opportunities. Customer-focused and results-oriented mindset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Additional Requirements Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time for customer visits and industry events. Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset, enabling effective communication in multilingual customer environments and with technical documentation.
