Maintain adequate supplies to all departments. Clean, paint and fill in where necessary. Work as process operators if second shift is required. KEY RESULT AREAS: PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Production Area Operate, set up, and clean rotary vacuum to filter yeast within established specifications when required as relief or second shift. Relieve operate block machines/box packer according to established procedures. Operate bag machines according to established procedures for breaks and second shift when required. Lift and stack 50 pound bags and boxes of yeast properly when required. Drive forklift and place pallets of yeast in cooler racks palletizer. Rework yeast as necessary. Remove and dump garbage. Paint and clean general plant. Prepare and load yeast as directed. All other duties as directed. Perform HACCP CCP and CP monitoring and verification checks as required. Reporting Report/document any malfunctions and downtime to Production Manager Human Resources Comply with corporate HR policies and procedures. Comply with Union Contract policy and procedures. Comply with relevant employment laws. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Other: Focused on continuous improvement. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsA COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Forklift operators certification. When required the ability to operate specific computer software and related hardware. Food manufacturing experience. TDG, WHIMIS, Confined Space Entry, Safety training, GMP, SQF and HACCP training. OTHER FACTORS Occasional overtime and weekend shifts may be required as per union contract. Shifts may work Mon - Fri or Tues- Sat. WORKING CONDITIONS While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands or fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to cold, hot, and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently at risk to exposure of toxic or caustic chemicals, electrical shock and vibration. The employee operates in an area with moving machinery and must remain alert. The operator is responsible for keeping his area safe, tidy and sanitary.
