Summary of Position Abalone Construction is a privately owned company with over 40 years specializing in Industrial and Commercial civil construction. We offer construction services in a variety of markets including Infrastructure, Roadbuilding, and Land Development. Reporting to the Project Manager and / or Site Superintendent, the Field Coordinator is a core resource in the operations cycle. The individual will have proven success interpreting drawings and confirming construction is completed in accordance with plans and appropriate construction practices. The successful individual will excel at working within the field and remote office (project), primarily supporting superintendents & project managers. Role and Responsibilities With the support of the PM Understand the contract scope of work, drawings, project specifications, measurement and payment descriptions, and QA/QC requirements Assist field supervision with tracking of time, load counts and accurate costing. Prepare accurate daily force accounts for the PM with the purposes of invoicing Assist PM with tracking and maintaining the Project schedule. Attend site meetings as required and liaise with the client, reporting back to PM and Site Supervisor Maintain materials receiving and tracking reports, ensuring materials and installations are in adherence with the contract specifications. Depending on individual experience occasional use of survey GPS may be required to assist in tracking / validation of contract quantities and or layout. Generate as-built data to be reviewed by the PM. Other duties, including assisting other departments as needed Qualifications, Training and Education At least one year experience in civil construction, earthworks experience preferred. Strong skills using Microsoft Excel, Office; Bluebeam, AutoCAD. GPS - / Trimble OR Topcon data collection software experience is an asset. Working towards C.E.T. designation / eligibility or equivalent preferred Behavioral characteristics in the form of assertiveness, critical thinking, and self-motivator Ability to successfully manage heavy workloads with multiple priorities, while managing time effectively Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license & provide clean drivers abstract. Working Conditions This position will involve frequent visits to various project locations as required to perform inspections and audits. This position will require occasional physically demanding work in different positions, working in adverse weather conditions, use of hand tools to support grading layout, must be willing to commit to 50 + hours per week at various project locations. Typical shifts are 7:00am - 5:30pm.
