Job summary
Educational Assistant Opportunity Traditional Learning Academy is currently recruiting Educational Assistants: Our mission is to partner with parents and students to support quality learning opportunities at home. This is an excellent opportunity where you will work one-on-one with our students in their home. Our students currently receive EA support in person and online. As an Educational Assistant you will be part of a talented multidisciplinary team working with children, families and school staff. We have hundreds of students from all over the province, each one working on individualized programs in a variety of learning environments. . This position is for September- June and the hourly wage is dependent upon qualifications and experience. Qualifications A certificate from a recognized post-secondary college such as a Special Education Teaching Assistant or equivalent post-secondary studies Background in supporting students with Disabilities and Diverse learning needs is required Applicants must be dedicated to inclusive education and committed to learning new skills in a team-based environment. Strong written and oral English communication skills. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable about gmail, google drive and proficient in video conferencing tools. A valid Ministry of Justice criminal record check is required as part of the hiring process. Experience working with students with ASD as asset. Online/In Person EAs collaborate with TLA teachers and the student's family to provide individualized one-to-one support depending on the students program. We are currently hiring an In Person EA for the following position in Chilliwack: In person, approximately 24 hours per week, Tuesday through Thursday, supporting 2–4 siblings, with the EA working with one student at a time. Requirements
