Position: EMC Engineer Location: Mississauga, ON or Calgary, AB, Canada Employment Type: contract/full-time Job Summary We are looking for an EMC Engineer who will be responsible for aircraft protection against electromagnetic threats, including inter-system EMI, ESD, HIRF, and lightning. Key Responsibilities Execute complex engineering assignments in the electromagnetic compatibility field Assess compliance with fuel tank explosion prevention requirements for new and existing products Review qualification documentation related to electromagnetics, including magnetic effects, RF susceptibility, RF emissions, lightning-induced susceptibility, lightning direct effects, and electrostatic discharge Assess aircraft-level inter-system electromagnetic interference Analyze modifications and non-conformances at the aircraft level and evaluate compliance with certification regulations Participate in design reviews with system suppliers for optimization and cost reduction Support continued airworthiness projects and propose risk-mitigating solutions Work within regulatory frameworks such as TC, EASA, or FAA Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; specialization in electromagnetics is a strong asset Minimum 5 years of experience in EMC specialty General knowledge of aircraft and system design Strong knowledge of electromagnetic fields, antennas and propagation, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC Familiarity with 14 CFR 25.954 and 25.981 regulations Familiarity with DO-160, SAE ARP, FAA advisory circulars, and related airworthiness regulations Ability to analyze aircraft-level modifications and verify compliance with certification requirements Experience with EMA3D is a plus Please share only strong, relevant profiles with aerospace EMC experience and exposure to certification/regulatory compliance.
