What’s in It for You Seasonal full-time opportunity from November 2026 to January 7, 2027 Inclusive, empowering and positive workplace where people are at the heart of everything we do Collaborate with passionate hospitality professionals committed to creating memorable guest experiences Access to global opportunities through our colleague travel and internal mobility programs Competitive starting wage of $19.78/hour Complimentary meals during your shift through the Colleague Dining Program Complimentary uniform laundering Opportunity to gain luxury hospitality experience within Vancouver’s iconic Castle in the City Participate in meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives What You’ll Be Doing Deliver warm, engaging and personalized service, ensuring every guest feels genuinely welcomed and valued Guide guests through the Notch8 food and beverage offerings, providing knowledgeable and thoughtful recommendations Maintain thorough knowledge of menus, including ingredients, preparation methods, garnishes, allergens and dietary considerations Demonstrate strong knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails and other beverage offerings, including appropriate pairings and seasonal features Accurately communicate allergies and dietary requirements to Culinary and fellow service colleagues Take and process orders accurately and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests throughout the dining experience Identify appropriate opportunities to enhance the guest experience through thoughtful recommendations and upselling Maintain mise en place, side stations and service areas to support seamless restaurant operations Collaborate closely with Culinary, Hosts, Server Assistants, Bartenders and fellow colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient service Support food running, bussing, table resets and specialty coffee service as operationally required Follow all food safety, responsible beverage service, health and safety, and hotel standards Complete opening, closing and other assigned duties to support the overall success of Notch8 Qualifications You’ll Be a Great Fit If You Have 1–2 years of serving experience within a luxury hotel, upscale restaurant or similar high-volume dining environment A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences Serving It Right certification (required) Strong food, wine and beverage knowledge Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Professional fluency in spoken and written English; additional languages are an asset Ability to remain composed, attentive and guest-focused in a fast-paced environment Strong organization, multitasking and problem-solving skills Reliability, punctuality and a strong sense of ownership A collaborative, team-first approach Professional presentation and grooming Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems is an asset Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays Preference will be given to applicants who are available for the full seasonal period from November 2026 through January 7, 2027. Physical Requirements Constant standing and walking throughout the shift Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 20 lbs Regular bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling Frequent use of stairs and ramps Ability to safely carry trays, multiple plates and other service items throughout the shift Additional Information Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
