Job Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Work Model: Hybrid Job Type: Full Time Primary Skills Retail Lending & LOS, Business Analysis & Functional Decomposition, API & System Integration Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst with strong expertise in retail lending, loan origination systems (LOS), business analysis, functional decomposition, Agile delivery, and system integration. The ideal candidate will bridge business and technology teams by translating complex business requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and integration requirements. The role requires hands-on experience with retail lending processes, REST APIs, data mapping, Azure DevOps, and downstream system integrations. Key Responsibilities Analyze and document requirements for retail lending, consumer loans, mortgages, underwriting, credit adjudication, loan fulfillment, and loan funding. Conduct requirements elicitation, requirements gathering, gap analysis, and functional decomposition. Develop process models, business rules, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria. Create detailed user stories and support backlog management, grooming, refinement, and sprint planning. Work with product owners and Agile teams to define MVPs, story maps, and delivery priorities. Analyze REST APIs, API requirements, integration flows, and interface specifications. Review and document Swagger/OpenAPI specifications, API contracts, and middleware integrations. Perform data mapping, payload mapping, and source-to-target mapping across integrated systems. Define message catalogs, interface designs, UI-to-API mappings, and downstream system requirements. Facilitate workshops with business and technical stakeholders. Identify and manage risks, dependencies, issues, and cross-functional impacts. Support development and QA teams by clarifying functional and integration requirements. Ensure delivered solutions meet defined business requirements and acceptance criteria. Required Skills & Experience Strong experience as a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) or Senior Business Analyst. Hands-on experience with retail lending and Loan Origination Systems (LOS). Strong understanding of consumer lending, mortgages, underwriting, credit adjudication, loan fulfillment, and loan funding. Expertise in requirements elicitation, requirements gathering, functional requirements, and business requirements. Strong experience in functional decomposition, business process analysis, process mapping, and gap analysis. Experience creating functional specifications, business rules, and acceptance criteria. Strong Agile delivery experience with Azure DevOps (ADO). Experience with user story writing, backlog management, backlog grooming, story mapping, sprint planning, and backlog refinement. Strong understanding of REST APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI, API contracts, and integration analysis. Experience with data mapping, payload mapping, source-to-target mapping, and interface design. Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Generic Managerial Skills Stakeholder management and relationship building.
