Work setting Various locations Residential Responsibilities Tasks Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems Instruct apprentices Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment Schedule personnel, tools and equipment Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing Supervise other workers Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size Supervision 1 to 2 people Credentials Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Plumber Trade Certification Additional information Security and safety Driving record check (abstract) Transportation/travel information Own transportation Valid driver's licence Own tools/equipment Tools Steel-toed safety boots Personal suitability Accurate Client focus Efficient interpersonal skills Excellent oral communication Judgement Team player Benefits Health benefits Dental plan Disability benefits Health care plan Paramedical services coverage Vision care benefits Financial benefits Group insurance benefits Life insurance

What you’ll do

Requirements

Requires a registered apprenticeship certificate, plumber trade certification, and at least five years of experience. The role is on-site at various locations and requires a valid driver's licence, own transportation, own tools, and steel-toed safety boots.
