Job Title: Systems Engineer Job Description This Systems Engineer role focuses on leading complex telecommunications systems across their full lifecycle, from design through manufacturing and scale. You will act as the technical connector between disciplines such as DSP, modulators, optics, photonics, processors, and related electronics, ensuring all subsystems integrate effectively within a larger network architecture. The position emphasizes hands-on technical engagement, cross-functional problem solving, and the ability to translate system-level insights into robust, manufacturable products. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams, including DSP, modulators, optics, photonics, processors, and related disciplines. Act as the technical "glue" between teams by understanding how various devices and subsystems interact within a larger telecommunications network architecture. Investigate and troubleshoot complex issues that span multiple domains rather than focusing on a single area of expertise. Work closely with product, design, and manufacturing teams to diagnose product, performance, or yield issues, identify root causes, and drive effective solutions. Guide products from design into manufacturing by applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and considering production constraints and scalability. Establish, guide, and continuously improve systems engineering processes and methodologies across the organization. Serve as a technical generalist who understands how different functions and technologies fit together within the overall product and system. Engage deeply with test results and collaborate with test engineers to interpret what testers are seeing and how it relates to system performance. Collaborate with optical and photonics experts to ensure modulators, lasers, and related components function optimally within the system. Partner with electrical, ASIC, and product engineering teams to ensure processors and electronics integrate seamlessly into the overall system architecture. Support new product development by contributing system-level requirements, architecture decisions, and integration strategies. Demonstrate technical leadership potential by influencing decisions, mentoring peers, and helping teams connect their work to the broader system. Continuously learn across disciplines and help the organization solve complex, cross-functional challenges by connecting the pieces of the technical puzzle. Essential Skills 8+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Product Engineering, or Technical Program Management. Strong systems engineering experience with a focus on telecommunications systems and network architectures. Ability to establish, guide, and improve systems engineering processes and methodologies. Strong understanding of optical telecommunications technologies, including optics and one or more of the following: modulators, lasers, photonics, and related electronics. Experience working in manufacturing environments and designing products for successful production and scale. Proficiency in applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to transition products from design to manufacturing. Ability to serve as a technical generalist who understands how different functions and technologies fit together within the overall product. Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership across cross-functional engineering teams. Comfort engaging at a detailed technical level with testers, modulators, processors, and other subsystems. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex, cross-functional product, performance, and yield issues. Clear communication skills to translate system-level insights across diverse technical disciplines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in program management within a highly technical environment. Experience in design and new product development for complex electronic or optical systems. Exposure to electrical engineering and ASIC-related development. Experience with photonics and modulator technologies in telecommunications applications. Proven or emerging leadership capability with the ability to become a recognized technical leader. Strong curiosity and desire to learn across disciplines and understand how individual components contribute to overall system performance. Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment and collaborate effectively with diverse technical teams. This posting is for an existing vacancy!
