Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join their Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for a variety of accounting functions including reconciliations, tax filings, treasury support, and regulatory reporting. Location: Markham, ON (Hybrid) Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Salary : $55-65K plus bonus Key Responsibilities Perform daily bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Reconcile prepaid expenses and fixed assets, including tracking and depreciation Prepare and file Canadian and U.S. sales tax returns Complete customs and duty filings with regulatory agencies Prepare bottle deposit reconciliations and provincial filings Support Accounts Payable processes, including invoice coding, processing, and payment preparation Prepare commission billings and intercompany transactions Assist with treasury activities including reporting, foreign currency monitoring and purchases, and payment setup Prepare and submit Statistics Canada filings Contribute to process improvements and other finance-related initiatives as required Qualifications Postsecondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline Minimum 1 year of accounting experience Knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with ERP systems; Sage X3 experience is considered an asset Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn and grow professionall Apply Today If you are an enthusiastic accounting professional looking to advance your career in a dynamic finance environment, we encourage you to apply.
