The Hamilton LRT Alliance has been selected by Metrolinx as the development partner for the Hamilton LRT – Package 1: Civil & Utilities. Under the alliance model, Aecon provides construction capability and resources as part of an integrated team, working collaboratively with all alliance participants to progress design, cost, and construction schedules during the project’s development phase. The Sr. Project Coordinator will support with key coordination tasks, tracking progress, and ensuring smooth communication across the project team for the Roadway & Streetscaping works scope. This role requires strong organizational skills, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to support project leadership in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment on a major multi-disciplinary infrastructure project. What You'll Do Here: Plans and implements an engineering and construction program, including defining the project plan, activities, milestones, and labour requirements. Develops and maintains the project schedule and budget and controls spending. Reads and understands the project contract. Provides status reports of project milestones and adjustments to schedules. Identifies changes to the project schedule and its impacts (e.g. contract impact). Identifies project labour requirements and coordinates labour with appropriate trades and subcontractors. Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables (e.g. design documents, as-built drawings, etc.). Reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications. Coordinates activities relating to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems. Evaluates and recommends design changes, specifications, and drawing releases. Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensure customer needs are met. Provides status and progress reports to customers, the project team, and management. Forecasts and tracks change orders and scope changes. Assists and monitors safety programs and statistics as required. Writes and reviews purchase specifications and subcontract documents. Maintains active involvement in quality assurance with regard to understanding and implementing policies and procedures. Provides estimating and project management backup as required. Performs such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her supervisor/manager. Develops and writes reports and business correspondence. What You Bring to the Team: Post-secondary education in a Construction or Engineering discipline, or an acceptable combination of education and previous experience. 5+ years of experience in a project engineering or heavy construction environment, preferably in roadworks or highway construction. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Proficiency in software related to the construction industry as required (e.g. Primavera Scheduling software, AutoCAD, etc.). On-site presence 5 days per week. Reason for Vacancy: New The expected pay range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000 per year. Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
