Job summary

Job Description On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking a Senior Microsoft Fabric Architect / Data Warehouse Architect (Lead) to architect, design, and build a centralized enterprise data warehouse on Microsoft Fabric from scratch, implementing CI/CD, environment promotion, capacity management, monitoring, and governance. They will deliver end-to-end enterprise Fabric production capabilities in support of data modernization and analytics initiatives. They will work closely with internal engineers, stakeholders, and nearshore resources to ensure successful technical delivery, operational readiness, and knowledge transfer. Responsibilities Architect, design and build a centralized enterprise data warehouse on Microsoft Fabric from scratch (implement Bronze / Silver / Gold layers). Create Fabric workspaces and capacity configuration; design capacity allocation and implement monitoring and alerting for spiking/consumption. Implement CI/CD for Fabric artifacts (notebooks, pipelines, semantic models, datasets, reports) and deployment promotion (Dev → Test → Prod). Build semantic models (Power BI / Fabric semantic layer) and govern semantic layer design/performance. Integrate Fabric with existing systems (Azure, Databricks, Synapse, CRM/GMS interfaces) and create batch/sync processes where required. Produce documentation, deployment runbooks, operational playbooks, and knowledge transfer to internal staff and nearshore resources. Mentor/lead internal engineers; act as single point of contact for technical delivery and risk mitigation. Qualifications Hands-on, recent, demonstrable Microsoft Fabric architect experience (production deployments). Proven enterprise data warehouse design using Bronze/Silver/Gold patterns on Fabric or equivalent. CI/CD experience for Fabric/Power BI artifacts; ability to design automated promotion processes across environments. Experience with Fabric capacity planning, monitoring, cost control, and performance tuning. Strong Azure data platform skills (ADF, Synapse, Databricks familiarity desirable). Experience migrating or modernizing Synapse/Databricks → Fabric strongly preferred. Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership; track record of delivering low-risk production solutions. Prior client engagements focused on Microsoft product stacks (Power Platform, Azure). Experience coordinating with nearshore/offshore teams and establishing overlapping work windows. Familiarity with grants management or financial systems integration (bonus for MyTax Plus/finance context). Senior architect / lead (5–10+ years, with specific recent Fabric experience). Client requires a “no-risk” hire — prefer candidates with proven track records as architects on Fabric or Synapse→Fabric migrations. Able to consult on architecture decisions and be hands-on implementing key components. Available to start interviews within 1–2 weeks; reasonably available to start work within ~2–3 weeks after offer. Affinity Earn Know someone who’s great for this, or any of our open roles?
