Summary of Role and Responsibilities As a software developer, you will perform tasks related to the design, development, testing, and deployment of software. Our team develops internet connected grain storage monitoring and management products for farmers. You will work with the Winnipeg team on developing our GrainVue system, grain dryer controls, and related products. This involves embedded systems, wireless sensor networks, a variety of Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies and APIs, and customer and internal web interfaces. Your Tasks: Develop GrainVue, GSI Connect, and grain dryer systems by designing, developing, documenting, testing, deploying, and monitoring features and functionality. Your day will be focused on backend development that powers our products both on device and in AWS while supporting front end development as needed. Assist in troubleshooting software operating in a live system environment. Support new product development (NPD) and current product (CP) work Your Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Computer Science Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience developing & supporting a distributed full-stack system Your Skills: Proficiency in Python development and object-oriented programming principles. Experience developing and deploying cloud-based applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS). Knowledge of AWS services and architectures, including ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, IoT Core, and SQS/SNS. Experience with containerization technologies and deployment practices, including Docker. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and methodologies, such as AWS CDK and Terraform. Other Experience/Skills That Would Be Considered Assets: Experience developing modern web applications using ReactJS. Experience with TypeScript for scalable front-end development. Experience working with PostgreSQL databases.
