About The Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join McKesson's Technology Pharmaceutical Solutions and Services (PSaS) DI Data Architecture and Engineering organization. This role involves designing and implementing advanced data product architectures, providing analytical insights, and collaborating across multiple teams to develop innovative data solutions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in modernizing our supply chain organization by enabling rapid AI/ML experimentation, operationalizing successful use cases, and monetizing insights. The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with data scientists, analysts, BI developers, data architects, and delivery leaders to create scalable, governed, and high-quality data products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence strategic initiatives, improve data-driven decision-making, and support McKesson’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of extensive experience in data engineering, building robust data solutions, and developing data products. At least 3 years of proven experience in data architecture, enabling enterprise data solutions. Hands-on expertise with cloud data platforms such as Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake data warehousing. Responsibilities Design and deploy cloud-native data applications and pipelines utilizing Azure and Databricks to support advanced analytics and digital initiatives within pharmaceutical business domains. Lead and manage offshore and nearshore teams to deliver validated, scalable, and governed data products, emphasizing metadata management, data lineage, and domain-driven design principles. Collaborate with data and platform architecture teams to ensure data product designs align with enterprise standards, governance policies, and strategic goals. Establish and enforce best practices for data quality, performance, scalability, and security across all data solutions. Define standardized data models, ontologies, and semantic structures to ensure interoperability and consistency across various data domains. Implement AI-enabled Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices and automation to improve performance, reduce technical debt, and accelerate time-to-market for data products. Drive seamless data integration across multiple platforms, champion modernization efforts through Azure-native technologies, and optimize workflows for reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
