Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Splicer (Evening) in the electro-mechanical assembly industry in Ottawa, Ontario. The Splicer's primary responsibility is to install, maintain, and repair fiber optic cables, ensuring seamless data transmission. This involves splicing, terminating, and testing fiber optic cables. Responsibilities Manipulating fiber optic cables to ensure working connectivity Testing, calibrating, identifying, and troubleshooting any issues that arise Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, specifications, work orders, and reports Using software such as SmartPRL, Agile, and Excel to document and maintain projects Requirements Fusion splicing &/or mechanical splicing experience needed Hands-on experience with splicing instruments such as fusion splicers, recoaters, strippers, and cleavers Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred Total Compensation $19.00 hourly Evening Shift from 4 pm - 12 am (Monday to Friday) 10% evening shift in addition to base rate Weekly pay including 4% vacation pay Preferred rates for benefit coverage available Transit accessible and free parking Opportunity for extension or permanent placement 3 - 8 weeks of training on Day Shift (8 am - 4 pm) Soft Skills Strong communication This posting is for an active opening.
