Your Next Challenge Reporting to the Mine Controller, you will be part of the Finance Department. You will be responsible for reporting, analyzing and managing the costs associated with our mining operations. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. Assist in the month / quarter and year end financial closes; Complete month-end journal entries, reconciliation, data analysis and recurring accruals; Analyze and monitor production costs, including labor, materials, and overhead; Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual and budgeted costs; Establish and monitor cost reduction programs; Assist with economic justifications for capital expenditures as required and ensure appropriate documentation and filing of the Authority for Expenditure (AFE) reporting form; Identify and track key performance metrics for capital expenditures and participate in long and short range financial planning for capital expenditures; Maintain asset files including updating depreciation numbers with managers, acquisitions and disposals; Assist in preparing the annual budget and interim forecasts; Assist with documentation & enhancement of internal controls under the SOX framework; Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies; Participate in special projects, when required, including implementing new ERP, accounting policies and other projects. Cover for Assistant Controller and/or Controller in their absences. What You Need To Succeed Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline (Business, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, etc); Professional accounting designation / CPA is required; Five or more years of relevant experience; Previous experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar role; Knowledge of accounting principles and practices; Experience with SAP and JDE is considered a strong asset; Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic and growing company; Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize assignments; Strong attention to detail; Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint. Your Work Schedule Schedule: 4/3 schedule at our Macassa Site OR 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A combination of teleworking and presence at our offices in either Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay, or Sudbury, ON.
