Your Opportunity: An opportunity to join Foothills Medical Center's Unit 30/31 - Burns, Plastics and Head & Neck surgery nursing team working within the Collaborative Care nursing model. Our unit is a dedicated, interprofessional team providing excellent specialized care for our burns, plastics, and Head & Neck patients and their families through direct patient care, including patient handling and lifting as well as performing clinical skills independently, including specialized clinical competencies required for the patient population. Description: As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team, providing personal assistance by supporting activities of daily living and delivering support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across the continuum of care in home, community, and health care facilities. You will assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs; assist with organized activities or programs; and observe and report on patients' mood, health, and wellbeing. Working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, you will assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, while supporting effective communication with patients and health care professionals. PLEASE NOTE: Until a new hire provides proof of HCA certification, they will be paid at the uncertified pay grade in accordance with the AUPE AUX Collective Agreement. Classification: Health Care Aide Union: AUPE AUX Unit and Program: Unit 30/31 - Burns, Plastics, ENT Primary Location: Foothills Medical Centre Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.50 Posting End Date: 24-AUG-2026 Employee Class: Regular Part Time Date Available: 21-SEP-2026 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 4 Shifts per cycle: 10 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $26.43 Maximum Salary: $29.58 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Active or eligible for registration or practice permit with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) as a Health Care Aide, along with proof of education or completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire. Additional Required Qualifications: Current clinical experience in acute surgical care required with a focus on burns, plastic surgery and head & neck cancer surgeries. Preferred Qualifications: As required.
