Your Opportunity: Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre has an exciting opportunity for a License Practical Nurse - Operating Room Technician with perioperative training and experience to join our surgical team. Ponoka Hospital currently provides endoscopy and obstetrical services and is expanding its surgical program to include cataract surgery, creating an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills in a dynamic perioperative environment. Previous operating room experience is considered an asset and will support a smooth transition into the role. Description: As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization. Classification: LPN - Operating Room Tech Union: AUPE AUX Unit and Program: Operative Services/Endoscopy Primary Location: Ponoka Hospital and Care Centr Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.00 Posting End Date: 15-OCT-2026 Employee Class: Casual/Relief Date Available: 25-OCT-2026 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: Varies Shifts per cycle: Varies Shift Pattern: Days, On Call Days Off: Saturday/Sunday Minimum Salary: $34.76 Maximum Salary: $45.56 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Operating Room Technician designation from CLHA. Preferred Qualifications: 2 years surgical experience. endoscopy experience.

Requirements

Applicants must complete an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program, hold or be eligible for an active Alberta LPN practice permit, and have current Basic Cardiac Life Support for Health Care Providers. An Operating Room Technician designation from CLHA is required; two years of surgical experience and endoscopy experience are preferred.
