As a unit clerk working on the pediatric and NICU units, you will be required to work alongside a multidisciplinary team each day. Your duties will include booking appointments for our pediatric outpatient department, working in the WFM liaison role and supporting the staffing and payroll of both units. The unit clerk will also carry out various administrative duties including ordering of supplies, restocking and acting as a connect care downtime resource. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Description: As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program. Additional Required Qualifications: Basic Computer skills. Familiarity with Connect care and WFM. Strong communication skills. Ability to establish strong working relationships with colleagues and patients and work within an interdisciplinary team. Adaptability to a constantly changing environment. Personal commitment to maintaining continuing competency and professional development. Ability to manage and effectively prioritize a variety of demands concurrently. Active participation and contribution to improving the work environment, an ability to meet the physical requirements including but not limited to sitting and standing for long periods, lifting, bending, twisting, squatting, pushing and pulling. Preferred Qualifications: WFM Liaison Role an asset. Proficiency with Connect Care.

Requirements

Requires Grade 12 or equivalent and completion of an accredited Unit Clerk course or equivalent training program. Candidates need basic computer skills, familiarity with Connect Care and WFM, strong communication and prioritization abilities, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team and meet the role's physical demands.
