Join Our Team as a Breakfast Server at The Prince George Hotel At The Prince George Hotel, exceptional dining experiences begin with warm hospitality, attentive service, and genuine connections with our guests. We are looking for a confident and service-oriented Breakfast Server who takes pride in exceeding expectations and creating memorable experiences. The successful candidate will provide prompt, professional, and personalized service while working closely with the Food & Beverage and Culinary teams. This position also plays an important role in maintaining restaurant standards and helping guide the team when the Terrace Supervisor is unavailable. What You'll Do * Welcome guests warmly, recognize returning patrons, and use guest names whenever possible * Take and accurately enter orders for à la carte menu items, set meals, buffets, and beverages * Pace each dining experience according to guest expectations and communicate timing requirements to the Kitchen team * Answer questions about menu offerings, daily specials, unavailable items, and hotel services * Accommodate special requests and clearly communicate menu modifications to the Kitchen * Monitor food quality and presentation, addressing any inconsistencies promptly * Promote menu items and beverages through thoughtful, responsible suggestive selling * Operate the point-of-sale system to enter orders, maintain guest checks, process corrections, and complete settlements * Prepare the restaurant for each meal period by organizing service stations, table settings, linens, condiments, bread, butter, coffee supplies, china, glassware, and cutlery * Bus, clean, and reset tables while maintaining clean menus, condiment dispensers, work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas * Polish glassware and cutlery and ensure service equipment is clean, organized, and ready for use * Assist with restaurant preparation, including lighting, music, temperature, windows, displays, seating arrangements, and staff sections * Greet and seat guests, accept and confirm dining reservations, and assist with Room Service when required * Anticipate business levels and help ensure the restaurant remains organized, welcoming, and properly prepared * Respond confidently and professionally to guest concerns, making appropriate decisions to restore guest satisfaction and loyalty * Monitor service and restaurant standards and provide direction to team members in the absence of the Terrace Supervisor * Maintain open and effective communication with guests, colleagues, the Culinary team, and other hotel departments * Develop and maintain strong knowledge of the hotel’s services, facilities, and features to assist guests and identify sales opportunities * Follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures and promptly report incidents, accidents, near misses, and safety hazards * Lead by example and complete other reasonable duties assigned by the Terrace Supervisor or hotel management What You Bring * Previous food and beverage service experience in a restaurant, hotel, or similar hospitality environment is preferred * A genuine passion for hospitality and creating positive guest experiences * Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills * The ability to remain composed, attentive, and professional in a busy environment * Confidence in handling guest concerns and making appropriate service decisions * Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and presentation standards * The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team * Experience using a point-of-sale system, is considered an asset * Knowledge of food, beverages, menu items, and responsible alcohol service * The flexibility to work a variety of shifts based on business needs, including mornings, weekends, and holidays What We Offer: We want you to feel valued here and to enjoy the benefits of being part of a strong and supportive team.
