THE OPPORTUNITY: HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR THE ROLE: The Housekeeping Supervisor is generally responsible for assisting the Executive Housekeeper, in managing housekeeping operations to include rooms, public areas and back of the house area inspections to achieve and maintain the hotel’s high standard of cleanliness. ACTIVITIES: The duties and responsibilities for the Assistant housekeeping manager include, but are not limited to the following: • Assists in the, training and career development of all housekeeping employees; assists with performance evaluations and communicating performance standards to employees. • Inspects the level of cleanliness in guest rooms, storage areas, laundry areas, restrooms and public areas. • Assists in scheduling staff according to standards and forecasted occupancy; assigns daily work tasks to employees. • Assists in tracking inventory of linen and cleaning supplies to maintain appropriate levels necessary for efficient operation of the department; assists with monthly linen and supply inventory. • Ensures the completion of the Housekeeper’s Report and communicates clean and available rooms to the Guest Services Department. • Documents and communicates maintenance requests to the Maintenance • Department to ensure hotel service quality standards are met. • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction. • Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates. • Conducts training regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelines. • Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, provincial and local laws, including • Health and Safety, ESA and Human Rights. • Fulfills Manager on Duty and Lobby Duty shifts. • Note: Other duties as assigned by Reporting Manager or designate. COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING: • Education/ Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and two years experience in housekeeping or similar industry, to include supervisory experience. Special consideration will be given to those who exhibit exemplary performance. • Skills: Organizational ability. Attention to detail. Interpersonal communication skills. Ability to motivate and direct others. • Working Conditions: Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. Will be required to work in fast paced, stressful environment. Will be exposed to and working with household chemicals.
