THE ROLE: The Server position is generally responsible to provide efficient, friendly and genuine guest service while performing food and drink serving duties in the restaurant and in banquets. ACTIVITIES: The duties and responsibilities for the Server include, but are not limited to the following: * Greet and interact with all guests in a courteous manner and maintain visibility in your section during functions. * Organize and set tables, stations, buffets and carts for service according to the company standards and function specific requirements (includes: clean linen, china, silver and glassware, etc.). * Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner * Communicate special requests or additional meal requirements to the supervisor / kitchen. * Use proper serving techniques during food service execution and ensure courses are properly cleared in a timely manner. * Clear and clean tables in a prompt and efficient manner. * Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in the function room and service area. * Ensure storage and service area/wait station is clean and maintained throughout shift. * Perform side-work, opening and closing duties as required to ensure all areas are clean and orderly at end of shift. COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING: * Strong interpersonal and public relations skills. * Must be able to work with a team and possess a positive attitude. * Relevant training certificate and be legally able to serve alcohol as per province of employment. * Previous serving (banquet, restaurant) experience is an asset. * Basic reading, writing and math skills, organizational skills and attention to detail. * Must be able to lift 20lbs with a high level of mobility and flexibility, continuous standing or walking are required. * Hours fluctuate evening, weekend and holiday availability is required. Requirements
Candidates must have a relevant training certificate to legally serve alcohol and be able to lift 20lbs with high mobility. Previous serving experience is considered an asset, along with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
