This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers and scientists who want to apply their expertise in a new and impactful way. No AI background needed — just deep biological knowledge and the ability to communicate complex ideas with precision. Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Develop, solve, and critically review advanced biology problems with real-world scientific relevance Apply your expertise in genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields to design challenging, nuanced problem statements Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to enhance AI model reasoning and scientific accuracy Ensure scientific rigor, clarity, and depth across all deliverables Use Python or R where relevant to support quantitative or bioinformatic tasks Who You Are Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field — Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, or equivalent Strong working knowledge of at least one core area: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics Comfortable coding in Python or R for research or analytical tasks Exceptional written communicator — you can explain complex science clearly and precisely Detail-oriented and methodical, with a commitment to scientific accuracy Fluent in English Nice to Have Prior experience with data annotation, data quality review, or AI evaluation workflows Background in computational biology or experience working with large biological datasets Familiarity with scientific writing, peer review, or research publication Experience bridging experimental and computational biology Why Join Us Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading AI research labs Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based scientific work Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and reasons about the life sciences Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
