We're looking for Chemistry Researchers with advanced degrees to design, solve, and evaluate complex chemistry problems that train cutting-edge AI models to think like a scientist. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for working researchers, postdocs, and academics who want meaningful, intellectually engaging work on their own schedule. No prior AI experience needed — just deep chemistry knowledge and a commitment to scientific rigor. Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Design and develop advanced, real-world chemistry problems spanning organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry Solve and critically review complex problem sets to ensure scientific accuracy and depth Apply your domain expertise to challenge and improve how AI models reason through chemistry concepts Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts Ensure clarity, rigor, and scientific integrity across all deliverables Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule Who You Are Master's or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field Deep expertise in one or more areas: organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry Strong written communication skills — able to articulate complex concepts with precision and clarity Detail-oriented and methodical, with high standards for scientific accuracy Comfortable working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment Fluent in English Nice to Have Experience coding in Python or working with computational chemistry tools (e.g., Gaussian, VASP, ORCA) Prior involvement in data annotation, evaluation systems, or scientific quality review Background in teaching, curriculum design, or writing complex problem sets Familiarity with AI tools or machine learning concepts Why Join Us Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs and AI teams Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, intellectually stimulating work Make a direct, lasting impact on how AI understands and applies chemistry at a fundamental level Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
