Job summary
AltaSteel is seeking an experienced and results-driven Procurement Manager to lead our strategic sourcing and purchasing activities. This senior-level role is critical to ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services that support our steel manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Risk Management, the Procurement Manager will oversee supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and compliance with AltaSteel’s procurement policies and standards. Responsibilities Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with AltaSteel’s operational and financial objectives Actively participate in day-to-day procurement activities, including supplier engagement, strategic sourcing initiatives, purchase approvals, contract negotiations, and resolution of critical supply or operational issues to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. Receive and review requisitions from Operations and other stakeholders. Present, review and select bidders in conjunction with Bar Mill and other stakeholders. Determine and prepare terms and conditions consistent with AltaSteel policy. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and support audit requirements Prepare and manage RFQs/RFP process, including, the preparation and analysis of bids, and recommend optimal suppliers Maintain contract management process, including the execution of agreements Collaborate with Finance to validate invoices and ensure alignment with contract terms Utilize ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics 365) to manage procurement workflows and reporting Additional duties as requested by management. Qualifications and Experience 10+ years of experience in Procurement role with strong background in contract management. 5+ years of management experience Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or related field SCMP designation is preferred. Skilled in using Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Focused on providing great service to internal customers and stakeholders Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working within a team Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills Details Full-time, permanent opportunity Fast-paced environment Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm Pre-employment requirements: Zero-tolerance drug and alcohol test Criminal background check This posting will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
