AltaSteel is currently seeking a safety-conscious Journeyperson Welder to join our Maintenance team. This role plays a vital part in supporting production by performing timely plant welding repairs and contributing to fabrication and rebuild projects in our fab shop. Responsibilities Perform structural welding repairs across a wide range of plant equipment and infrastructure Support production areas through efficient and high-quality welding work Complete fabrication and rebuild projects in the fab shop Weld using SMAW and FCAW processes, primarily on mild steel, with occasional work on stainless steel and aluminum Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and procedures Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to complete projects accurately Qualifications & Skills Journeyman Alberta Welder or Red Seal Welder certification CWB certified SMAW all positions, must show proof upon offer Strong commitment to safety and adherence to procedures Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges Effective communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude Details Full time, permanent, in-town opportunity. Hourly rate $44.995 plus shift premiums Employer paid benefits and pension 12 hour, day and night, rotational shift work Overtime at 1.5X and 2.0X Fast paced environment PPE Provided Pre-employment requirements: Zero-tolerance drug and alcohol test Criminal background check

Requirements
Must hold a Journeyman Alberta Welder or Red Seal certification and be CWB certified in SMAW all positions. Requires a strong commitment to safety and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
