Job Requirements Location: Scarborough, ON Remote Work Policy: 2 days per week on-site Project Context The Software Analyst will support the development of the next generation of Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) systems within a leading rail transportation organization. This role involves contributing to railway signalling, train localization, train control, and communication functions used in urban rail transit systems. The position focuses on the new CBTC framework, which will support future rail transportation platforms. Key Responsibilities Retrieve assigned tasks from Jira, review requirements, acceptance criteria, and dependencies. Update and maintain Gherkin test scenarios for automated testing. Execute functional, regression, and edge-case testing of software features. Ensure adequate test coverage and validate software behavior before release. Review system requirements in IBM DOORS and assess impacts on the application. Analyze CBTC control logic involving components such as Vital Communication Controller (VCC) and Platform Screen Controller Unit (PSCU). Develop, integrate, and validate new software features. Track progress, defects, and testing activities in Jira and ClearQuest. Participate in sprint reviews, stand-ups, and cross-functional discussions with developers, testers, and project managers. Candidate Requirements Qualifications Software development experience. Software testing and validation experience. Experience with requirements management and traceability. Experience working in Agile/Sprint environments. Experience with transportation, signalling, or other safety-critical systems. Nice-to-Have Qualifications CBTC experience. Railway industry experience. Experience with Gherkin/Cucumber automated testing. Knowledge of train control and signalling systems.
