ABOUT THE ROLE As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will maintain operations of the pit on a day to day basis. Reporting to the Aggregates Production Lead Hand, the Heavy Equipment Operator will be required to inspect, maintain and operate a wheel loader, excavator, dozer and or 40-ton articulated haul trucks and will be required to assist with labour and servicing activities as a part of the crushing/pit crew. WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH * Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community, and environment. * Responsible for completing the daily equipment checklist. * Responsible for maintaining and inspecting equipment to ensure good working order and document conditions found prior to shift operation. * Monitor material production within specifications. * Ensure consistent feed to maintain a quality product. * Create an atmosphere of teamwork. * Seek out and implement Best Practices. * Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Required Work Experience: The ideal candidate will have a broad range experience operating heavy equipment (1A License an asset), a minimum two (2) years mining/aggregates experience preferred and five (5) years proven experience in heavy equipment operation. Additional Requirements: * Communicate information with Crusher Foreman. * Ensure safety goals are achieved. * Work co-operatively with all personnel. * Excellent communication and leadership skills and works well in a team environment. * A positive and proactive attitude towards teamwork and safety. * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. * Effective organizational, time management and analytical skills. * Self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision. * Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will maintain operations of the pit on a daily basis, ensuring safety and quality production. You will inspect, maintain, and operate various heavy equipment while assisting with labour and servicing activities.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and a minimum of five years of proven experience in heavy equipment operation, with two years in mining or aggregates preferred. Strong communication, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety are essential.
