Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer

Job description: ANDRITZ has an immediate opportunity for an Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer located in Richmond, BC. The APC Engineer will work collaboratively with our project teams to deliver exceptional value through the optimization of our customers’ industrial processes by design and application of various advanced automation, digitalization, and process control technologies, including: model predictive control, machine learning and data analytics, expert systems, digital twins, and dynamic process simulation. Travel is anticipated to be 20-30% Other valued, but non-essential skills, abilities, and experience include: Knowledge of predictive control theory and experience with an industrial APC platform Simulation of industrial processes Proficiency with Python, R, and SQL Consulting engineering experience Instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting Commissioning, construction, and start-up experience

The APC Engineer designs and implements advanced automation and control strategies to optimize industrial processes. Responsibilities include building empirical dynamic models, tuning controller loops, and providing commissioning support for optimization projects.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and at least five years of experience in automation design or advanced process control. Candidates must be eligible for EGBC registration and willing to travel 20-30% domestically and internationally.
