The Role The successful candidate will review translations from English into Canadian French, primarily in the areas of accounting, finance and marketing. The role is focused on ensuring that content is accurate, fluent, appropriate for its intended audience and aligned with each client’s requirements. This position requires excellent command of both French and English, as well as a strong understanding of accounting and financial terminology and marketing communication principles. The successful candidate will also demonstrate the versatility needed to work on general and professional content across a variety of formats and subject areas. Responsibilities Review translations from English into Canadian French, primarily in accounting, finance and marketing, as well as general and professional content. Ensure the accuracy, fluency, consistency and overall quality of written content. Verify terminology, phrasing, tone and register based on the context and target audience. Ensure compliance with client-specific instructions, linguistic preferences and terminology resources. Conduct terminology and reference research as needed to validate usage and appropriateness. Maintain terminology consistency across documents and contribute to the development of translation memories, glossaries and other linguistic resources. Identify errors, inconsistencies and recurring issues, and propose solutions while contributing to the improvement of linguistic processes and practices. Collaborate with project managers and other members of the linguistic team to ensure efficient, high-quality service delivery. Use CAT tools and language technologies effectively. Follow current writing practices, specialized terminology and established processes for using language tools and technologies. Contribute to the continuous improvement of Apertera’s linguistic quality and processes. Qualifications University degree in Translation (English-French), Linguistics, Communications, Accounting, Finance, Marketing or a related field. At least 5 years of relevant experience in translation and revision from English into Canadian French. Strong experience reviewing professional content, ideally in accounting, finance and marketing. Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial terminology, with a good understanding of marketing communication principles. Excellent written and spoken Canadian French, as well as excellent comprehension of English. Excellent writing skills and the ability to adapt style, tone and register to the content and target audience. Experience with CAT tools and electronic linguistic resources. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Sound professional judgement, autonomy, rigour and the ability to work with a variety of content types.
