Job#: 3049747 Job Description: Senior Java Backend Developer Location: Toronto, ON (Partial Remote) Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to join a high-performing Agile development team supporting enterprise-scale applications and initiatives. This role is focused entirely on backend development, offering the opportunity to contribute immediately to active projects. The successful candidate will be a hands-on developer with strong Java expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and support enterprise backend applications. Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. Develop new functionality while enhancing and maintaining existing applications. Build and support RESTful APIs and integrations. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues. Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint-based delivery. Perform code reviews and contribute to application design discussions. Support CI/CD processes and deployment activities. Collaborate closely with developers, QA teams, architects, and business stakeholders. Ensure quality, security, and compliance standards are maintained. Required Qualifications 7+ years of hands-on Java development experience. Strong experience with modern Java versions (Java 11+). Extensive experience with Spring Framework / Spring Boot. Experience developing and supporting REST APIs. Familiarity with SOAP-based services. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Azure cloud experience. Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines. Understanding of DevOps practices. Experience providing QA support and defect resolution. Experience working within financial services or highly regulated environments. Experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud-hosted environments.
