Job summary

Tammy Boyko and Carlan Wilbon with Aplin are currently seeking an Accounting Clerk for an immediate temporary project in Winnipeg. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail, solid Excel skills, and experience with accounting records and reconciliation. The successful candidate will review and reconcile historical check and payment records by comparing information across accounting systems, bank requisition/ledger records, invoices, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation. Responsibilities: Review accounting records and check-related documentation to confirm information is accurate. Review PDF documentation to understand and document what occurred with each transaction. Reference and match document numbers across different records. Review information displayed across multiple screens and systems at the same time. Compare information from different sources and connect the related records. Search Excel spreadsheets to locate specific transactions, reference numbers, and other information. Check off and update items in Excel as they are reviewed and completed. Identify discrepancies or duplicate entries and bring them forward for review. Maintain accurate records throughout the reconciliation process. Complete a high volume of straightforward, detail-oriented reviews while maintaining accuracy. Qualifications Previous experience in accounting, administration, data entry, reconciliation, or a similar detail-oriented role. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel and searching spreadsheets for specific information. Able to work with PDFs, spreadsheets, and multiple computer screens. Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow a process. Comfortable comparing information from different sources and determining how records relate to one another. Ability to work independently and stay focused on repetitive, detail-oriented tasks.
