Job summary
Our client, a well-established intellectual property law firm located in Downtown Toronto, is seeking a detail-oriented Trademark Assistant to join their legal support team in a collaborative and professional environment. Please note, this is a hybrid role, requiring two days in-office and three days remote each week. Working closely with Partners, Associates, and legal professionals, this role will support daily trademark administrative and file management functions while ensuring efficient operations and exceptional client service. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 (commensurate with experience) Comprehensive health & dental benefits following the probationary period RRSP matching program following the probationary period Hybrid work model (2 days in-office, 3 days remote) Key Responsibilities Provide administrative support to professionals within the Trademark and Copyright practice groups Manage due dates, deadlines, and file-related correspondence in accordance with established procedures Review client instructions and take appropriate action under the direction of legal professionals Assist with invoice preparation, distribution, and follow-up activities Maintain and organize electronic files, emails, and legal documents within document management systems Communicate professionally with clients, associates, and stakeholders Qualifications Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate or Law Clerk Degree from an accredited program 2–5 years of trademark experience within a law firm or intellectual property environment Proven experience working within an electronic trademark practice environment Familiarity with IP docketing systems and document management software Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Professional, reliable, and client-service-oriented demeanor Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and follow established procedures closely Experience supporting marketing and advertising-related intellectual property work is considered an asset Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset At Aplin — together with our brands CompuStaff, Impact Recruitment, and Vantix Systems — we connect great people with great organizations across North America. Requirements
