Carleton Dining Services would love to have you on our team! We are hiring full-time Assistant Managers to join our team at Teraanga Commons Dining Hall on Carleton University campus. Reporting to the Food Service Managers in the location, and working in conjunction with the Culinary Team and other Assistant Managers, our Assistant Managers are responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the unit, working with and providing leadership to the team on the ground, and ensuring a high level of customer service.What We Offer Health benefits (full-time employees) Training and development opportunities Employee recognition programs including service awards Meal program Strong focus on a safe and healthy work environment Diverse and inclusive workforce About the Job Responsible for overseeing the daily operations with assistance from the Manager on duty and in conjunction with the culinary team Ensure compliance of all Aramark operating standards and legislated standards including company policy and procedure, Health and Safety standards, and Safe Food Handling Responsible for assigning daily tasks to the team Responsible for some scheduling duties with the guidance of the manager on duty Provides support to Manager with HR functions such as performance evaluations and progressive discipline Recruits and trains staff in compliance with Aramark requirements Develops and motivates staff to attain proper standards of performance Ensure quality, courteous service is provided to all customers, and resolves customer complaints Works with the Manager and Marketing Manager to launch marketing initiatives and promotions Participates in inventory controls Collects, records, and deposits all revenues received at the component Maintains compliance of all cash handling and cash auditing procedures, reports and overage/shortages Ensures adherence to Aramark’s policies and procedures Ensures adherence to Aramark's Health and Safety Programs Other duties as assigned About You Diploma in Hospitality Management/ Food and Beverage Management or equivalent work experience Supervisory experience required Experience in a unionized setting an asset Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Effective communication skills Strong organization skills Some physical work required; must be able to lift up to 30lbs Flexible Schedule Required – may involve some evenings and weekends The selected candidate for this position will need to complete and successfully pass a Criminal Background Check.Education About Aramark At Aramark, we empower our people to create moments that matter through exceptional hospitality experiences.
