Alongside a manager who will help coordinate and lead operations at George Martin Hall; you’ll help oversee staff, collaborate with teammates, and help where needed. Job Responsibilities Supervise the day-to-day food service operations at STU's George Martin Hall Support Manager and Executive Chef in supervising food production, waste management and record keeping Assist with recruitment, training, staff orientation, scheduling and filling shifts as needed Assist Manager with managing team performance Supervise cash handling procedures, balance cash float, safe and verify deposits Ensure food safety standards and HACCP are always followed Resolve customer complaints as they arise, escalating to the Manager as necessary Follow the Operational Excellence fundamentals by maintaining food and labor initiatives Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers and employees Adhere to all policies and procedures, leading by example Maintain knowledge of daily catering events and confirm they are prepared and delivered on time. Support Manager in overseeing occasional catered events. Maintain communication with staff (including office staff, e-mail, phone calls, inter-office mail, etc). Perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Director or Manager whenever his/her skill and/or experience would be vital to initiate, coordinate, or complete any given program Qualifications 3+ years' leadership experience experience required 1+ years' food services experience required Experience working as a part of a catering team considered an asset Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards considered an asset Strong organizational and team building skills with the ability to coach and motivate team members Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint Flexible schedule as some evening, weekend, and/or holiday work may be required This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
