DC Team Supervisor – Afternoon Shift Location: Brampton, ON Salary: $60,000–$65,000 annually Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm or Permanent Shift: Monday to Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM Schedule Flexibility: Must be flexible to accommodate operational requirements Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Distribution Centre Team Supervisor to oversee day-to-day warehouse operations on the afternoon shift. This role will be responsible for leading a team, coordinating daily activities, maintaining productivity and quality standards, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can motivate employees, monitor operational performance, address issues quickly, and work closely with management to achieve daily business objectives. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership Lead, coach, and support warehouse team members to achieve daily operational goals. Set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback, recognition, and coaching. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing team members. Support employee performance management and address issues appropriately. Conduct daily team meetings to communicate priorities, performance updates, safety information, and business requirements. Promote teamwork, employee engagement, and a positive workplace culture. Maintain effective communication with employees and management at all levels. Warehouse Operations Oversee daily distribution centre activities and ensure the operating plan is executed effectively. Monitor staffing levels and allocate resources based on operational requirements. Maintain a strong floor presence to identify operational challenges and address issues promptly. Ensure inventory accuracy and accountability throughout warehouse processes. Monitor inbound and outbound activities to ensure service and productivity targets are met. Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and overall operational performance. Support continuous improvement initiatives and projects related to operations and cost control. Performance & KPIs Monitor and report on key performance indicators including: Productivity Quality Service levels Inventory accuracy Safety Labour utilization and costs Work with management to establish daily goals and ensure the team remains aligned with operational targets. Investigate performance gaps and implement corrective actions where required. Consistently work toward meeting or exceeding established KPIs. Safety & Compliance Promote a strong safety-first culture within the warehouse. Ensure employees follow all health and safety policies, procedures, and company guidelines. Identify and address safety hazards immediately. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Assist with documenting and investigating workplace incidents and accidents. Ensure team compliance with departmental and company policies. Communication & Collaboration Communicate operational updates, challenges, and performance results to the Team Manager. Escalate critical operational issues or potential service concerns when required. Build strong working relationships with internal teams and business partners. Participate in regular operational meetings and provide updates on team performance. Ensure employees are informed about changes, upcoming activities, and operational priorities. Qualifications & Experience Previous experience in warehouse, distribution centre, logistics, or supply chain operations. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a warehouse environment. Strong ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team. Experience working with operational KPIs and productivity targets. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Comfortable working hands-on and maintaining a consistent floor presence. Strong commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence. Flexibility to work the required afternoon shift is essential.
